Aerotec Group expands MRO footprint with Global Aerotech and strengthens integrated aircraft lifecycle platform
Cologne / Zagreb / March 2026 – The Aerotec Group announces the acquisition of Global Aerotech d.o.o., a Croatia-based provider of line and base maintenance as well as component repair services. With this transaction, the Group significantly expands its maintenance capabilities and establishes a central European maintenance and aircraft transition hub in Rijeka.
Located in the heart of Europe, Rijeka Airport is being developed into a fully integrated base maintenance and aircraft transition hub, combining aircraft storage, line and base maintenance, complete cabin refurbishment, reconfiguration and teardown activities. The development includes the expansion of infrastructure and the construction of additional hangar capacity to support a growing range of maintenance and transition projects.
The site offers scalable aircraft parking capacity and a cost-efficient operating environment, making it particularly suitable for aircraft storage, redelivery programs and end-of-life asset strategies.
Frank Kusserow, CEO of Aerotec Group:
“With the acquisition of Global Aerotech, we are taking the next step towards building a customer-focused platform for aircraft maintenance, transitions and asset optimization. With Rijeka Airport, we are establishing a central European hub that enables us to combine storage, base maintenance, cabin refurbishment and teardown services in one location.
The site’s infrastructure – including a 2,500-meter runway, 24-hour IFR operations, and the capability to accommodate a wide range of aircraft, including widebodies — provides the operational foundation to support efficient aircraft transitions and maintenance programs for our customers.
We are also very pleased that the former shareholders of Global Aerotech will remain involved, supporting the continued development of the business and ensuring a smooth integration into the Aerotec Group."

René Mamet, Vice President Operations, Aerotec Group:
“The increasing demand for efficient maintenance, storage and asset transition solutions is driven by ongoing supply chain constraints and limited parts availability across the market. With Rijeka, we are creating a scalable operational platform that combines line and base maintenance capabilities with direct access to component support, enabling faster turnaround times and greater flexibility for our customers.
At the same time, we are expanding our line and base maintenance network across Europe, the Middle East and Africa under a unified operational framework, ensuring consistent compliance with EASA Part- 145 and Part-21 requirements as well as FAA, UK CAA and GCAA standards.”
With its expanded footprint, the Aerotec Group now covers a broader portion of the aircraft lifecycle – from component repair and material supply to base maintenance, aircraft transitions and end-of-life solutions.
With the support of aviationscouts, the Group enables the circulation and availability of more than 100,000 aircraft parts, further strengthening material supply and asset optimization across its integrated platform.
In addition, the Rijeka facility is being developed to include AFRA-aligned dismantling and part-out operations, further strengthening the Group’s capabilities in sustainable end-of-life services.
